The LTC4364IDE-2 is a multifunctional surge protection device featuring an ideal diode controller, offering overvoltage surge clamping, protection against both forward and reverse voltages, and adjustable time-delayed overcurrent shutdown. It utilizes MOSFETs in place of traditional Schottky diodes to reduce conduction losses, maintains power to the downstream load during input voltage drops, and features a fault-lock output to prevent secondary damage.
Designed for humanoid robotics applications, it can be used on multiple power rails within the robot's chassis to effectively suppress power surges caused by the start-stop cycles of joint motors and high-current switching. It is compatible with the wide range of battery voltages used in robots and provides protection against conditions such as incorrect cable connections and short circuits, thereby enhancing the overall power supply robustness of the system.
