Magnesia Carbon Bricks are a kind of refractory material with bonding of resin and raw materials of magnesium oxide and graphite. They have properties of low porosity, slag erosion resistance, thermal shock resistance and higher high-temperature strength. They are mainly used for Basic Oxygen Furnace, Slag Line of Ladle Furnace and Hot Spot of Electric-Arc Furnace.

 

Magnesia Carbon Brick, a kind of unburned carbon composite refractory, are manufactured with magnesium oxide of alkaline oxide with high-melting-point (2800℃) and carbon material with high melting point that is difficult to be eroded by furnace slag as the raw materials, and added all kinds of non-oxides additive and carbon binding agent. As a kind of composite refractory, Magnesia Carbon Brick utilizes strong slag corrosion of magnesia and high thermal conductivity and low expansibility of carbon efficiently, which make up for the biggest disadvantage of worse spalling resistance of magnesia.

1. What are refractory products?

Refractory products refer to functional materials which can resist high temperature or even ultra-high temperature. They are widely used in various high temperature heat treatment equipment, such as steels-melting kiln, glass kiln and cement kiln. The quality of refractory products directly affects the usable life of kilns and the quality of the final industrial output. Refractory products are made from various natural minerals such as silica, dolomite, graphite, zircon, magnesia, high aluminium ore and chrome ore through numerous technical refining processes. Unshaped refractory products refer to fire-resistant casting materials. They can be moulded into whatever shapes and are suitable for building different high temperature furnaces and using as the lining in different heat treatment furnaces.
