A stainless steel strip is similar to a sheet with a thickness range between 0.2mm and 6mm.Metal strip is narrow, thin stock that is usually 3/16 in. (4.76 mm) or less in thickness and under 24 in. (609.6 mm) in width.The thickness of sheet metal starts from 0.5 mm and goes up to 6 mm. Anything above that is a metal plate. The thin sheet metal is easy to form, while still providing great strength.Strip steel is a metal product created from hot rolled strip steel that has been pickled, before rolling, to remove any surface impurities. With a clean, uniform finish, cold rolled strip steel is known for having a tighter thickness tolerance than cold rolled steel.Stainless steel 304 and 304L are also known as stainless steel 1.4301 and 1.307 respectively. Type 304 is the most versatile and widely used stainless steel. It is still sometimes referred to by its old name 18/8 which is derived from the nominal composition of type 304 being 18% chromium and 8% nickel.
