The step chain and step roller have two design structures: integrated roller and wheel hub roller. The integrated roller is composed of tires and bearings. Hub type roller is composed of tires, hubs and bearings. The materials of hubs can be divided into engineering plastic (PA) and metal. The standard is PA hub and option can be metal hub base on customer requirement. Normally, few metro customers are required to use metal hub step chain roller. 

Step chain is one of the most important force bearing parts in escalator. As one of main components of the step chain, the step chain roller also bears great pressure. In general, most of the hub type roller is used in step chain and the old products are mostly used integrated roller.

The step chain rollers are made of hydrolytic resistant polyurethane. The eligibility tests for step chain roller include anti-hydrolysis is 250hrs, oil hydrolysis is 250hrs, and life test run time is 5000hrs.
