500–2,500 Tons/Month Turnkey Anodizing Production Line with PLC-Controlled Automation for Corrosion-Resistant Architectural Profiles in Desert and High-Salt Environments
This turnkey anodizing production line is engineered specifically for manufacturers of architectural curtain wall and building facade aluminum profiles, with a specialized configuration focused on corrosion-resistant anodizing for desert and high-salt environments.
The complete process chain—from pre-treatment through anodizing to sealing—operates within a PLC-controlled automated system. The line supports both conventional sulfuric acid anodizing (Type II) and hard anodizing (Type III) for architectural aluminum profiles, with customizable production capacity ranging from 500 to 2,500 tons per month based on profile dimensions, surface area per ton, and required film thickness.
Architectural aluminum in desert and coastal regions must withstand high salinity, elevated temperatures, and intense UV exposure. Anodized aluminum finishes meeting AAMA 611 Class I requirements provide essential film integrity, exterior weatherability, and appearance retention for many years in such demanding environments.

| Color Retention (5 years) | Fade ≤ 5 Delta E | Fade ≤ 5 Delta E | AAMA 611 |
AAMA 611 Class I anodize is specified for exterior applications and is more resistant to salt spray and coastal environments. Class I coatings have a dry film minimum thickness of 0.7 mils (18 μm) and must pass 3,000 hours of salt spray testing per ASTM B117 using a five percent salt solution.
Each stage is controlled by the central PLC system, with automated transfer between tanks. Rinse stages incorporate cascading counter-flow to reduce water consumption. The anodizing stage uses a rectifier with stable DC output, and electrolyte temperature is maintained by an industrial chiller system.
After anodizing, profiles may undergo electrolytic coloring or organic dyeing before sealing. Sealing closes the porous structure of the oxide film, improving corrosion resistance and resistance to contamination.
A typical line layout includes the following major equipment:
- Pre-treatment System: Degreasing tank, alkaline etching tank, neutralization tank, three-acid polishing tank (optional), multi-stage rinsing tanks with cascade counter-flow
- Anodizing Tank System: Corrosion-resistant tank (PP/PVC/stainless steel) with cathode system, electrolyte circulation interface, and uniform electric field design
- Rectifier: High-power DC or pulse rectifier with stable output (current capacity matched to tank volume and workload)
- Chiller System: Industrial chiller with titanium or stainless steel heat exchanger for electrolyte temperature control
- Automated Transfer System: Gantry crane or rail-mounted hoist system for rack transfer between tanks
- PLC Control Cabinet: Central control with touchscreen HMI, recipe management, and data logging
- Coloring System: Electrolytic coloring tank or organic dye tank with temperature control (optional)
- Sealing System: Hot deionized water or nickel acetate sealing tank with temperature control
- Filtration System: Continuous multi-stage micron filtration for electrolyte clarity
- Exhaust & Scrubber System: PP or FRP fume hoods with acid mist scrubber
- Wastewater Treatment System: pH adjustment, sedimentation, and filtration for discharge compliance
- Drying System: Hot air dryer or centrifugal dryer
The line footprint and tank dimensions are customized based on maximum profile length (up to 6,500 mm or 8,500 mm, depending on configuration) and required throughput.
Every production scenario differs in profile geometry, alloy mix, and throughput target. We provide customized line layouts and process solutions based on your specific requirements—including tank sizing, transfer system configuration, rectifier capacity, chiller selection, and treatment cycle design.
