Stainless Steel AISI314 Woven Wire Mesh Used as Heat Treatment Baskets
For Heat-Treatment Industry customers, we could supply a special mesh with heat resistance up to 1100 C°. This mesh would be made with stainless steel, or related alloys, which is with some special content to improve its high-temperature oxidation and abrasion resistance.
Stainless Steel AISI314 is the same alloy as the stainless steel 310 series, but with higher silicon content. The higher silicon content, with about 1.5-3%, improves its high-temperature oxidation resistance and allows it to work well with maximum resistance during carburization. Similar to AISI310, AISI314 also has higher nickel content than AISI309 and provides good strength and oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 1100°C. Anyway, AISI314 stainless steel would become brittle, if it works for a long time in the environment with temperature exposure within 660°C – 750°C. AISI314 wire mesh is often used in heat exchangers and furnaces.
