At the corners, there might be air vent screens also made of durable woven wire mesh, which could protect your home from insects and bugs.

The air vent is a mesh screen that serves as the first line of defense against large debris such as insects, bugs, and gravel entering. They could be simply done by cutting the woven wire mesh into the required suitable shapes. And the screen mesh could be with folded edges, or just over-molded into a plastic support frame. They are then held in place between the exterior decorative bezel, cowling, or grillwork and the interior ductwork.
