100mm HDPE Geocell for Landscape Slope Greening Surface Soil Protection

GEOMAX® GEOCELL PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

GeoMax® Geocell — High-Performance Soil Reinforcement

The GeoMax® Geocell system provides a premier solution for ground modification through cellular confinement. The interconnected three-dimensional network, manufactured from high-strength HDPE, acts as a stiff mattress that confines infill materials, thereby significantly improving the shear strength and load-bearing capacity of the composite structure. Its design ensures optimal force distribution, reducing settlement and enhancing overall stability. Engineered for durability, it withstands aggressive environmental challenges, including UV degradation and chemical exposure. This makes GeoMax® an indispensable, sustainable technology for a wide range of geotechnical applications, from reinforcing weak subgrades and protecting embankments to constructing stable platforms for infrastructure projects.

APPLICATIONS

SOIL REINFORCEMENT

Geomax®(Hdpe Geocell) is the solution to soil stabilization or soil reinforcement. It can increase the bearing capacity of the pavement and avoid cracking of the pavement.

SLOPE PROTECTION

Geomax®(Hdpe Geocell) is the obvious choice for slope protection or erosion control. It has both good drainage effect and slope protection.

CHANNEL PROTECTION

Geomax®(Hdpe Geocell) delivers stability and protection of channels
exposed to erosive conditions ranging from low to high flows, either intermittent or continuous.

RETAINING WALLS

Geomax®(Hdpe Geocell) offers highly permeable and acts as a great number of planting pots, allowing rainwater to infiltrate, minimizing runoff.

FAQ:

1. How does 3D confinement differ from planar reinforcement?
3D confinement creates a rigid cellular structure that provides all-around stress dispersion, while planar reinforcement (like geogrids) mainly offers in-plane tensile strength. The cellular system acts as a stiff mattress, distributing loads vertically and laterally, whereas planar reinforcement relies on soil-reinforcement interaction through friction and interlock.

2. What is the load distribution mechanism of cellular systems?
The load distribution occurs through multiple mechanisms: lateral confinement of infill material, membrane effect under deformation, and beam effect that spans over weak subgrade areas. The cellular structure creates a composite material with significantly improved load-bearing capacity and stress distribution angles typically ranging from 45-60 degrees.

3. How does the geocell-soil composite action work?
The composite action is achieved through:

  • Mechanical interlock between infill particles and cell walls

  • Friction between the geocell material and infill

  • Interconnection of cells creating a continuous reinforced mass
This results in a composite modulus 3-5 times higher than unreinforced infill.
