The cellular structure becomes functional after the geocell panel is expanded and secured over the prepared surface. Infill is placed inside the individual cells, allowing the HDPE walls to provide lateral restraint. This helps retain soil or aggregate within the intended reinforcement area and supports more consistent ground conditions.
Landscape contractors can use this HDPE geocell for garden paths, green areas, recreational spaces, landscaped slopes, pedestrian zones and similar ground improvement applications. Depending on project design, soil can be selected when vegetation is required, while gravel or other granular material can be used for non-vegetated surfaces.
GM75-445 uses ultrasonic welded joints rather than separate mechanical connectors between the individual strips. This conventional manufacturing method allows the geocell sections to be folded into compact bundles after production.
At the construction site, the folded section is opened, expanded to the specified panel dimensions and temporarily fixed before filling. The expandable design makes geocell practical for irregular areas where conventional rigid reinforcement products may be more difficult to position.
