7050 aluminum plate is a high-strength heat-treatable alloy with extremely high strength and resistance to spalling corrosion and stress corrosion fracture. It is often used in aircraft structural parts for medium and thick plate extrusion parts, free forging and die forging parts. Alloy requirements for the manufacture of such parts are: resistance to spalling, corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, fracture toughness and fatigue resistance are strong.
The main alloying element of 7050 series aluminum alloy is zinc. Adding magnesium to the alloy containing 3%-75% zinc can form MgZn2 with remarkable strengthening effect, so that the heat treatment effect of this alloy is much better than that of Al-zinc binary alloy. Increasing the content of zinc and magnesium in the alloy, the tensile hardness will be further improved, and its resistance to stress corrosion and spalling corrosion will be increased. After heat treatment, it can achieve very high strength characteristics. The material will generally add a small amount of copper chromium and other alloys. The 7050-T7451 aluminum alloy in the system is the top product, known as the best aluminum alloy products, high strength, far better than soft steel. This alloy has good mechanical properties and anode reaction. Mainly used in aerospace, mold processing, mechanical equipment. Fixture, especially for aircraft manufacturing structures and other high stress structures requiring high strength and strong corrosion resistance.
