2205 duplex stainless steel (austenitic-ferritic type) contains 21% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum, and 4.5% nickel-nitrogen alloys. It offers high strength, excellent impact toughness, and superior stress corrosion resistance.
2507 duplex stainless steel (ferritic-austenitic type) consists of 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. This grade combines properties of both ferritic and austenitic steels, providing exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and uniform corrosion.
2205 is suitable for temperatures below 40°C and sulfuric acid concentrations under 20%. 2507 offers superior corrosion resistance in diluted sulfuric acid with chloride ions and diluted hydrochloric acid environments, with excellent pitting and stress corrosion cracking resistance. While 2507 provides enhanced performance, it is typically not used for sulfuric acid resistance due to its higher cost.
