A356.2 has very good casting and machining characteristics. It has 7% Silicon and 0.4% Magnesium with Fe below 0.1%. A356.2 is known as the wheel alloy, as it is primarily used for aluminium wheel casting for the automotive industry.
Properties: Excellent corrosion resistance, good weldability, excellent mechanical properties, good strength and ductility
