Aluminum-zinc coated steel coil, also known as Aluzinc or Galvalume steel coil, is a high-performance
steel product with a metallic coating composed of aluminum, zinc, and silicon. It combines the superior
corrosion resistance of aluminum with the sacrificial protection of zinc, making it widely used in constru
-ction, appliances, automotive, and industrial applications.
Coating Composition
Typical Ratio: 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon (e.g., Galvalume®).
Silicon improves coating adhesion and prevents excessive alloying with the steel substrate.
Coating Weight: Common grades include AZ60 (60g/m²), AZ100 (100g/m²), and AZ150 (150g/m²).
Key Features

Aluminum forms a protective oxide layer (Al₂O₃), while zinc provides cathodic protection.
2–6 times more corrosion-resistant than traditional galvanized steel (GI), especially in salty or humid environments.
♦ High-Temperature Resistance
Withstands up to 315°C (600°F) continuously, making it ideal for chimneys, ovens, and exhaust systems.
♦ Excellent Reflectivity & Aesthetics
Reflects ~75% of solar radiation, improving energy efficiency in roofing applications.
Can be painted (pre-coated) or embossed for decorative purposes.
♦ Formability & Strength
Suitable for deep drawing, bending, and roll forming, though harder than GI—may require adjusted
tooling.
