1100 aluminum coil is a commercially pure aluminum alloy (≥99.0% Alu) with excellent corrosion

resistance, high thermal/electrical conductivity, and good workability. It is one of the most widely

used aluminum alloys for general purpose applications.

With a minimum of 99% aluminum, 1100 aluminum is considered commercially pure aluminum.

The remaining 1% is often composed of trace amounts of iron, silicon (Si) and/or other elements. 

1100 Aluminum Alloy Mechanical Properties

Advantages

 
✅ High ductility (easy to form, bend, or draw).
✅ Excellent weldability (TIG, MIG, resistance welding).
✅ Good machinability (but gummy—requires proper tooling).
✅ Non-magnetic and reflective.

 
Disadvantages

❌ Low strength (not suitable for high stress applications).
❌ Not heat-treatable (strengthened only by cold working).
❌ Poor wear resistance.

Electrical Components: Busbars, conductors, heat sinks.
