Aluminum 5182 H18 sheets belong to the 5000 series of aluminum alloys, which are primarily

alloyed with magnesium, offering a perfect balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and formability. 

Common Tempers

O (Annealed):

Used when maximum formability is required (e.g. for deep-drawing operations).

Very soft, ideal for stretch forming.

H111:

Slightly strain-hardened; offers a balance of strength and formability.

Commonly used in stamped automotive body panels.

H32:

Moderately strain-hardened and partially annealed.

Provides higher yield strength and better dent resistance than O or H111.

Used when surface rigidity and stiffness are more critical.
