1. What laser machine can cut metal?
Fiber laser beams offer a metal-friendly wavelength that metal absorbs more efficiently. The smaller spot size and excellent beam profile make it ideal for cutting most metals.
2. How thick can a laser cut metal?
It depends on the power of a laser cutting machine.
3. Can a laser cut everything?
Laser cutters can cut various materials – anything from paper, wood, cork, acrylic and foam to different types of metals. Still, there are some materials that would seemingly fit well into this list but should never be cut using a laser cutter.
4. Does fiber laser need gas?
During the fiber laser cutting process, an assist gas blows through a nozzle on the laser cutting head. How much gas is needed can vary, but it's generally a small amount.
