Foxboro FCP270 Field Control Processor
The Foxboro FCP270 is a field-mounted, optionally fault-tolerant controller designed for distributed process control. It performs regulatory, logic, timing, and sequential control together with connected Fieldbus Modules (FBMs), and handles data acquisition, alarm detection, and notification.
The FCP270 connects to the Foxboro Evo network via 100 Mbps fiber optic Ethernet. In its fault-tolerant configuration, two processor modules work in tandem to ensure high reliability. Supporting both 100 Series and 200 Series FBMs—with expansion options for up to 128 modules—it operates in harsh environments (Class G3) without requiring an external fieldbus communication module.
