1.Zinc Plated: Zinc plating involves applying a thin layer of zinc to the surface of the washer. This coating provides some level of corrosion resistance and helps protect the underlying steel from rusting. Zinc-plated washers are commonly used in indoor applications or environments where exposure to moisture or corrosive substances is limited. They are not recommended for prolonged outdoor use or in highly corrosive environments.
2.Hot-Dip Galvanized (HDG): Hot-dip galvanizing is a process where the washer is completely immersed in a bath of molten zinc. This results in a thick and durable zinc coating that provides excellent corrosion resistance. HDG-coated washers are commonly used in outdoor applications, especially in construction, where they are exposed to harsh weather conditions, moisture, and corrosive elements.
