Spherical Annular BOP Packing Element
Working Principle
During well control operations, high-pressure hydraulic oil (10.5 MPa) from control systems enters the close-cavity beneath the piston via the housing oil outlet. This action drives the plastic core upward along the ball surface, causing bearing tendons to converge and compress the rubber toward the well center. This mechanism effectively seals around drilling tools or completely seals the wellhead. For opening, hydraulic oil enters the open cavity above the piston through the housing oil inlet, pushing the piston downward and allowing the plastic to reset via its natural elasticity, thereby reopening the wellhead.
