System Configuration
The choke manifold consists of choke valves, gate valves, line pipes, fittings, pressure gauges, and other essential components for complete pressure control functionality.
Working Principles
When well pressure increases, operating the choke valves (manual, hydraulic, or positive chokes) on the manifold allows controlled fluid release to manage casing pressure. High casing pressure can be directly vented through gate valves for emergency situations.
Operating Instructions
- All manifold components must have working pressure compatibility with the BOP stack
- Install in easily accessible location with pre-installation pressure testing at rated working pressure
- Ensure line pipes are level and straight, using 120-degree steel bent pipes for turns with adequate bore size
- Pressure gauges must be properly installed and calibrated
- Designed for operation in low-temperature winter conditions
