Blowout Preventer Annular BOP Packing Element
Operational Principle
High-pressure hydraulic oil (10.5 MPa) from control systems enters a closed cavity under the piston during well sealing operations. This action forces the plastic core upward along the ball surface, compressing the bearing tendons and moving the rubber elements toward the wellbore center to effectively seal around drilling tools or completely seal the open wellbore.
