What is EVA Foam?
Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA) is a closed cell foam. It is often used in floor and exercise mats, sports equipment, crafts, kickboards, life jackets, flip-flops, and more importantly props and costumes for cosplay. EVA foam can be shaped with heat, glued to other pieces of EVA or materials, and painted. EVA foam comes in various thickness, shapes and densities.
EVA Foam is a firm closed-cell foam with a softer, more rubbery feel than our polyethylene (cross-poly) offering. Its surface squishes down when you press your fingers into it, quickly bouncing right back into place. The firm structure and UV resistance of EVA foam makes it a great material for outdoor applications, and it is also popular for use as a Cosplay material. It weighs 2 lbs/ft³, and is commonly used for products like decking on boats, surfboards, knee pads, helmet padding, insulating hot tubs, shin guards, and exercise mats.
Our EVA-38 Foam is:
- Smooth on BOTH sides
- Has a Durometer Shore-C hardness of 38. Shore hardness represents how resistant the foam is to indentation. The higher the number the stronger the foam.
- Comes in large 600 mm x 1500 mm ( approximately 24″x 60″) sheets
- A smoother surface with minimal air holes. This helps you produce a better final product
- A higher density EVA foam than most EVA foams on the market
- Comes in black or white
- Available in a variety of thickness such as 2 mm (1/16 inch), 4 mm (3/16 inch), 6 mm (1/4 inch), 8 mm (5/16 inch), 10 mm (3/8 inch), and 12 mm (1/2 inch).

This EVA foam has a shore hardness of 38. It comes in two sizes: 600 mm x 600 mm (approximately 24″ x 24″) squares and 300 mm x 300 mm (approximately 12″ x 12″) . Each sheet is coated with an industrial adhesive. Simply peel the backing and stick to another piece of foam. Allow to cure for 24 hours for best adhesion.
