Casing coupling is the connecting part of casing to transmit environmental load, and is also the weak link that is prone to failure accidents.
It is well-known, the integrity of wellbore in the life cycle is not only limited by the thread connection strength of casing, but also by the sealing performance of coupling threads (Han and Wang, 1999). Therefore, it is of great significance to study the sealing integrity of casing coupling under non-uniform load.
CASING COUPLING : A short length of pipe used to connect two joints of casing. A casing coupling has internal threads (female threadform) machined to match the external threads (male threadform) of the long joints of casing. The two joints of casing are threaded into opposite ends of the casing coupling.
