Description of UL FM200 Fire Suppression System
Heptafluoropropane (HFC-227ea) is a clean and safe fire extinguishing agent that can be used in fully submerged automatic fire extinguishing systems, replacing Halon 1301, and maintaining the excellent fire extinguishing performance of Halon fire extinguishing agent without causing any environmental problems
The safety of the heptafluoropropane (HFC-227ea) fire extinguishing system in total flooding applications is safer than Halon 1301, with a safe exposure concentration of 9% accepted by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Meanwhile, the ozone depletion value (ODP) of HFC-227ea is 0, non-conductive, clean, and residue free.

- Toxicity
In tests, the acute toxicity of HFC-227EA Agent was shown to be equivalent to that of Halon 1301. HFC-227EA Agent has been evaluated for cardiac sensitization through test protocols approved by the US EPA. The EPA’s SNAP Program classifies HFC-227EA Agent as acceptable for use as a total flooding agent in occupied spaces. Refer to the SNAP program rules for more information.
- Cleanliness
HFC-227EA Agent is clean, leaves no residue, thereby eliminating costly after-fire clean-up, and keeping expensive “down-time” to a minimum. Most materials such as steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and other metals as well as plastics ,rubber and electronic components are unaffected by exposure to FM-200 Agent.
