- Interference Fit and Spring Pressure: The inner diameter of the seal lip is slightly smaller than the shaft diameter, forming an interference fit after installation, allowing it to tightly grip the shaft journal.
- Hydrodynamic Return Design: The lip contact surface is usually engraved with fine spiral lines or patterns. A very small amount of leaking oil is pumped back into the transmission, achieving dynamic sealing.
- Static Sealing Assistance: The outer diameter of the seal and the transmission housing bore form an interference fit, creating a static seal to prevent oil leakage from the outer ring.
- Dustproof and Main Seal Integration: Some designs employ a double-lip structure; the main lip seals the oil, while the secondary lip (outer side) is specifically for dustproofing.
- Main Sealing Lip Material: Typically made of acrylic rubber or fluororubber
