Stone paper also calls rock paper. The main raw material of new technology what we called rock paper is the richest calcium carbonate in crust, taking high polymer material and many kinds of inorganic substances as auxiliary raw material, it is a new kind of papermaking technology that is recyclable by making use of high molecular surfactant chemical principle, filling modification technique and special process. It is a new world-leading technology at home. It can not only solve the problem of pollution caused by traditional paper making but also solve the problem of white pollution and the waste of oil resources from plastic packaging.

The primary ingredient in stone paper is Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) which comes from stone or rock, so stone paper is also called rock paper.

Stone Paper is made from crushed stone powder, combined with a non-toxic and recyclable binding agent HDPE (High Density Polyethylene). Stone paper is an extremely environmentally friendly paper which is different from traditional paper because it has non wood-pulp.

Making stone paper is a patented paper making technology which will not pollute air and water.

No chlorine or acids are utilized in the production process, and the resulting stone paper is completely non-toxic, and is even food safe.

Stone Paper is photo-degradable; it will gradually degrade when exposed to direct UV light. It will crack like an egg shell and turn back to calcium carbonate, regaining its original stone form over time.

It is not a synthetic paper, it is simply a very durable paper made from stone. It is a smarter option for uses that demand durability, superior quality and environmental properties.

Recycle Ways of Stone Paper

The stone paper is made of plastic and inorganic mineral powder, therefore the recycling way is the second type of recycling. What’s more, recycled stone paper can be broken into grain which can be added for producing plastic products. The environmental labeling is:

And the reasons are as follows: on the one hand, micron-sized stone powder easily absords heat and gets temperature raised under the sunshine, which damages adhesives (plastic cement ) by generating steam and carbon dioxide. On the other hand, the ultraviolet light breaks the molecular bonds and then leads to the structure fracture of adhesives(plastic cement ). Our company put the 200μm stone paper under the sun for 6 months, and the final result was that the stone paper was broken naturally like a eggshell. Besides, we arranged solar simulator ultraviolet irradiation tests with 200μm stone paper, and the test result was also similar to actual sun exposure experiment.
