Stone paper is made from calcium carbonate and bonded by a non-toxic resin, resulting in a strong and durable paper. It is bright in color and has a physical strength that can withstand far more wear and tear than normal paper.

The stones being used are in crushed form, recycled from different leftovers in the industry. When crushed, it forms into calcium carbonate powder, which is an entirely natural product and safe to use. Other common uses for this stone is in toothpaste, medicines and baby powder.

The stone paper is made from calcium carbonate bonded with high-density polyethylene(HDPE)
The production process does not use wood pulp at all, does not use a drop of water, does not discharge waste water, waste gas,waste residue, Stone paper is Eco-friendly, waterproof, moisture-proof, anti-bacteria , resistance to tear, recyclable. Currently it had been widely used as:

1. Culture paper: such as printing for notebook, books, map, magazine, paper bags, paper cup, cards, etc,
2. synthetic paper: such as: labels, disposal bags, blister products, wrapping food, wrapping flower, cement bags, etc...

Unique Characteristics of stone paper 

1. MADE OF STONE DUST
Stone paper is a type of paper that is made out of calcium carbonate 80% (limestone) and bio-polyethylene resin 20% (HDPE). In this case, the HDPE is used as a binder. Thereby, limestone from existing limestone quarries is being used as the raw material and processed into a fine powder.

2. WITHOUT CHEMICAL BLEACH
The color of Stone paper is originally white, therefore it does not require any further bleaching process. Because of its high density, stone paper products also retain their shape over time.

3. WATERPROOF AND WASHABLE
Due to its composition, stone paper is waterproof, resistant to grease and washable. The feel is similar to that of tissue paper.

4. BACK TO NATURE
The products are disposed and recycled in the normal way. Here, the stone paper is turned back into calcium carbonate and becomes limestone again.

The Environmental Impact

The most obvious difference between stone paper and traditional paper is the amount of raw material that is needed to produce the last. For producing stone paper no trees are cut and no water is used, it has low carbon emissions and it requires no acid, base or bleach during production.

Stone paper is recyclable; it needs to be recycled with Type 2 plastics because of HDPE. Beyond being recyclable, stone paper is photodegradable with 14-18 months of sunlight exposure. It’s not clear, however, what happens to the HDPE component after that process occurs.
