Material Overview
Duplex and super duplex stainless steels are weldable with moderate formability. These magnetic grades offer superior corrosion resistance for demanding applications involving high temperature, pressure, and corrosive environments.
These higher-grade stainless steel pipes are available in the same dimensional range as conventional A312 stainless steel pipes, making them suitable replacements with enhanced performance characteristics.
Performance Advantages
- Duplex Stainless Steel - Superior corrosion resistance to grade 316, excellent resistance to localized corrosion (intergranular, pitting, crevice), with CPT of 2205 typically ≥35°C. Resistant to chloride corrosion cracking up to 150°C.
- Super Duplex Stainless Steel - Enhanced chromium and molybdenum content provides exceptional resistance to uniform corrosion from organic acids (formic, acetic) and inorganic acids containing chlorides.
