ASTM A105 flanges are forged carbon steel components designed for ambient and elevated temperature service in pressure systems. These flanges can be manufactured to various standard specifications including ASME B16.5, ASME B16.47, ASME B16.48, ASME B16.36, MSS SP 44, API 605, and API 6A.
ASTM A105 and A105N steel flanges share identical raw materials and steel grades but differ in heat treatment requirements. The "N" designation indicates Normalization heat treatment, while standard A105 has no specific heat treatment requirement. A105N offers superior mechanical properties and is typically specified for critical applications.

Weld neck flanges, also known as tapered hub or high-hub flanges, are engineered to transfer stress to the connected pipes, effectively reducing high-stress concentrations at the flange base. Available in two configurations: standard design for pipe connections and extended versions for process plant applications. Manufactured primarily through forging processes and welded directly to pipes.
The Raised Face flange is the industry standard for process plant applications, featuring gasket surfaces elevated above the bolting circle. This design accommodates various gasket types including flat ring sheet designs and metallic composites such as spiral wound and double jacketed configurations.
RF flanges concentrate pressure on a smaller gasket area, enhancing the joint's pressure containment capability. ASME B16.5 defines the diameter and height specifications based on pressure class and nominal size.
- Stress distribution optimization through weld neck design
- Enhanced pressure containment with raised face configuration
- Multiple coating options for corrosion protection
- Normalized heat treatment for improved mechanical properties
- Comprehensive size range from 1/2" to 24"
- Compliance with international standards and specifications
