B When the product is for subsequent welding applications and so specified by the purchaser, zinc shall be 0.50 % max, lead 0.02 % max, phosphorus 0.02 % max, sulfur 0.02 % max, and carbon 0.05 % max.

ASME B16.9 End Cap Dimensions
The cap is used to seal an open end of the pipe. In piping engineering, the cap made in accordance with ASME B16.9 will be welded to the end and need not be included in the length dimension of the run of pipe.
