MSS SP-97 is a standard developed by the Manufacturers Standardization Society (MSS) of the Valve and Fittings Industry. It specifically addresses integrally reinforced branch outlet fittings, including Weldolets, which are welded onto the run pipe to create smooth transitions for smaller branch pipes.

ASTM A403 Stainless Steel Pipe Fittings refer to forged and rolled austenitic stainless fittings for pressure pipes. Common grades WP304/L and WP316/L are suitable for engineering industry, energy conversion plants, and various industrial applications.

The method of analysis for nitrogen shall be agreed between purchaser and manufacturer. For small diameter or thin wall applications, carbon maximum of 0.04% is required in grades TP304L and TP316L.
