Description  of 1747-M1

The Allen-Bradley 1747-M1 is an SLC 500 EEPROM module. It has an 8 KB, 1K user words memory for fixed SLC, SLC 5/01, and SLC 5/02 programmable controllers. It also has a user memory of 64,000 words and comes with a flash backup memory. The program scan time of this module is 0.9 ms, while its I/O scan time is 0.225 ms. The module’s backplane current is 1 A at 5V DC and 175 mA at 24V DC. EtherNet and RS-232 ports are also available with the 1747-M1 module. Remember to always turn off the power of the controller before removing or installing the 1747-M1 module, as not doing so may lead to undesired processor faults or damage to the module itself. You should only hold the module by the edges of its plastic housing or ends of the carrier to avoid possible corrosion through the contact of oil or skin. Make sure to avoid exposing it to electrostatic charge because this may alter or even destroy the memory.

For safety reasons, this module’s power supply must be completely shut off prior to the installation of this unit, to avoid damage to the unit and faults in the processor. Additionally, this terminal should be held only at the very edges of the plastic housing to bring it into the least possible contact with skin and oils. This unit should not be exposed to electrostatic charges, as these may do irreversible damage to this processor’s memory.
