Sugarcane Paper Production Process
The sugarcane is first harvested annually and then ground in sugar mills. This produces the juice used for
sugar production on the one hand and the bagasse on the other. This is the fibrous residue that remains
after pressing. The fibres are then processed into pulp to produce sugarcane paper.
For every ton of cane sugar produced, 2 to 3 tons of bagasse are produced, and each ton of sugarcane
bagasse can replace 1-1.25 cubic meters of wood.
