A Box Feeder, is a crucial front-end raw material handling equipment in the brick and tile manufacturing process. It is primarily used for receiving, storing, and conveying various brick-making raw materials—such as clay, coal gangue, shale, and sludge—in a uniform, stable, and controllable manner. It provides a consistent and balanced flow of material to the next process stage (e.g., mixing, crushing, aging). Working Principle:
The box feeder operates through a coordinated mechanical process:
Storage and Homogenization: Raw materials are loaded into the large open-top box by upstream equipment (e.g., a forklift), allowing for short-term storage and providing initial mixing and homogenization as the material moves.
Bottom Conveying: The bottom of the box is equipped with one or multiple sets of scraper conveyor mechanisms driven by chains. When the equipment starts, the motor drives the sprockets via a gear reducer, which in turn moves the chains and the attached scrapers forward along guide rails on the box floor.
Uniform Discharge: The moving scrapers steadily push the material accumulated on the box floor towards the discharge outlet.
Flow Regulation: An adjustable gate, whose height can be steplessly regulated, is installed at the discharge end. By adjusting the gate's opening, the layer thickness of the material can be precisely controlled, enabling accurate, stepless adjustment of the output rate and ensuring a constant material flow to subsequent equipment.
