Core Box Preparation: A core box is a mold or pattern that defines the shape and dimensions of the sand core. The core shooting machine requires a core box for each core it produces. The core boxes are typically made of metal or resin.
Sand Preparation: The core shooting machine requires a supply of sand, known as core sand, which is a mixture of sand and a binder. The binder helps hold the sand particles together to form a solid core. The sand is usually specially formulated for core-making purposes.
Shooting Process: The core shooting machine consists of a shooting chamber, a sand supply system, and a pattern plate. The core box is placed in the shooting chamber, and the pattern plate, which has cavities matching the desired core shape, is positioned on top of the core box.
Sand Filling: The sand supply system delivers the core sand to the shooting chamber. The sand is typically gravity-fed or pneumatically conveyed into the chamber, where it fills the space between the pattern plate and the core box. The sand is compacted to achieve the desired density.
Core Formation: Once the sand is filled and compacted, a shooting head or a shooting mechanism forcefully shoots a high-pressure stream of air or gas into the sand mass. This action causes the sand to solidify and form the core shape within the core box.
Core Removal: After the shooting process, the pattern plate is lifted, and the core box with the newly formed sand core is removed from the machine. The core is then typically cured or hardened further through a baking or drying process, depending on the type of binder used.
