The length refers to maximum excavation depth, not boom length. For example, a 14m telescopic boom provides 14m maximum excavation depth.
Length is determined by ensuring the boom won't touch the bridge when placed on the ground, based on your specific machine model.
The original machine requires three sets of pipes and replacement of the foot switch to control telescoping function. Important safety considerations include maintaining proper balance and avoiding 90° operations between cab and track shoe.
