High Permeability Soft Magnetic Alloy
Permalloy 80 is a nickel-iron-molybdenum alloy with approximately 80% nickel, 15% iron, and 5% molybdenum composition. This vacuum-melted soft magnetic material offers exceptional magnetic properties including high initial and maximum permeabilities with minimal core losses at low field strengths.
Key advantages include near-zero magnetostriction, significant anisotropic magnetoresistance, and compact size/weight characteristics ideal for space-constrained applications. The material provides maximum magnetic permeabilities up to 250,000 mH/m and relative permeability around 100,000, significantly outperforming ordinary steel.
