High Permeability Soft Magnetic Alloy
Soft magnetic materials are essential components in both power and electronics industries. In power applications, these materials operate in high magnetic fields to achieve maximum magnetic induction with minimal core loss. In electronics, soft magnetic materials function in low to medium magnetic fields, delivering high magnetic permeability and low coercive force.
For high-frequency applications, thin strips or alloys with higher resistivity are preferred. Alternating magnetic fields induce eddy currents within soft magnetic materials, causing energy loss. Higher frequencies result in greater eddy current losses and reduced magnetic field strength. To minimize these losses, materials are manufactured as thin sheets or tapes, typically with surface coatings of insulating layers or oxide insulating layers formed through specialized processes such as magnesium oxide electrophoresis coating.
