What grade of stainless steel will not rust?
304 stainless steel is the most common form of stainless steel used around the world due to excellent corrosion resistance and value. 304 can withstand corrosion from most oxidizing acids. That durability makes 304 easy to sanitize, and therefore ideal for kitchen and food applications.
Is 304 or 410 stainless better?
Because of the differences in composition, 400-series stainless steels can be heat treated to higher hardnesses while 300-series stainless steels cannot. This enables 410 stainless steel fasteners to be much harder than any 304 stainless fastener, and thus stronger.
