Axial flow pump is a kind of vane pump. Its blade unit is a series of airfoils, forming a cylindrical blade grid around the hub. Since the trace of the fluid micro-group flowing through the impeller is theoretically located on the cylindrical surface concentric with the rotating shaft, and the outflow is considered to be along the axial direction after the guide vane derotation, this pump is called an axial flow pump, also known as a Kaplan pump. The flow rate of the axial flow pump is large, up to 60m3/s; the single-stage head is low, usually 1~25m. Therefore, the specific speed of the axial flow pump is high, and its common range is between 500~1600.

Regardless of the installation form, the flow components of the axial flow pump are basically composed of the suction port, impeller, guide vane, and the curved pipe behind the guide vane.
