Dual overcenter valves connected to the hydraulic motors keep the load from running away by controlling the outward flow of oil in both directions The valve consists of a main poppet or spool that is held closed by a spring, and a pilot valve that controls the opening and closing of the main poppet. The pilot valve is typically operated by an external pilot pressure source, such as a separate hydraulic line or an integrated pilot circuit.
During normal operation, when the load is being lifted or held in place, the pilot pressure is low, and the main poppet remains closed, blocking flow in the opposite direction. This prevents the load from dropping or drifting due to external forces.
