Processing Characteristics
- Weldability: Compatible with arc and resistance welding techniques; inert gas shielding recommended to minimize aluminum oxidation
- Annealing: 1066°C (1950°F) for 3 minutes per 0.1 inch thickness followed by air cooling
- Aging: Multi-stage precipitation hardening process with specific temperature and time parameters
- Cold Working: Easily processed using common methods in condition A
- Hot Working: Multiple condition treatments available including CH900, A1750, R100, RH950, T, and TH1050
