The automatic self-cleaning filter works as follows:
- Filtration: The fluid enters the filter housing, and the filter element captures solid particles, debris, and contaminants from the fluid stream.
- Backwashing: Over time, the captured particles accumulate on the filter element, leading to an increase in pressure drop. When the preset cleaning interval is reached or when the pressure drop reaches a certain level, the backwash mechanism is activated.
- Cleaning Cycle: The backwash mechanism reverses the flow, creates suction, or uses mechanical scraping to dislodge and remove the trapped particles from the filter element.
- Disposal: The dislodged particles are directed to the waste outlet, and the clean filter is ready to resume its normal filtration operation.
