The YAMAHA SCARA robot YK-XG series offers several key features and advantages:

  1. Internal structure achieving high rigidity and high accuracy: The robot's internal structure is designed to provide excellent rigidity and accuracy, ensuring precise and reliable performance.

  2. Completely beltless structure: The YK-XG series utilizes a beltless design by employing a direct coupling structure for the ZR axis. This eliminates the need for belts, reducing wasted motion and improving accuracy over time. It also ensures maintenance-free usage without concerns about belt breakage, stretching, or aging.

  3. High speed: YAMAHA has focused on improving the maximum speed and overall tact time of the YK-XG series. By optimizing the gear ratio and motor RPM, the robots achieve faster cycle times, especially during long-distance movements.

  4. Improved maintenance features: The YK-XG series is designed with user-friendly maintenance in mind. The robot covers can be easily removed from the front or upwards, simplifying maintenance tasks. Additionally, the harmonic gear used in ordinary robots typically requires time-consuming grease replacement. However, the YAMAHA SCARA robots feature a grease-sealed type harmonic gear that eliminates the need for grease replacement (applicable to certain models).

  5. Robot R-axis inertia moment capacity: The YK-XG series offers a low R-axis inertia moment, which greatly contributes to reducing cycle times, especially when dealing with heavy workpieces or large offsets. By directly coupling the speed reducer to the rotating axis, YAMAHA achieves a high allowable inertia moment, enabling high-speed operation even with work offsets.

  6. Compact design: The YK-XG series boasts a compact design with a low overall cable height and small dimensions compared to other robots in the same class. Changes to the cable layout and the use of a motor with a small overall length contribute to the compactness of these robots.

  7. Environmentally rugged resolver: YAMAHA SCARA robots utilize a resolver as their position detector. Resolvers have a robust structure, making them highly resistant to harsh environments, breakdowns, and the effects of moisture or oil. This resolver structure ensures reliable operation in various conditions and eliminates detection problems often encountered with other detectors like optical encoders. It also offers both absolute and incremental specifications, providing flexibility in operation.

  8. Zone control function: The YK-XG series features a zone control function that automatically sets the maximum acceleration and deceleration based on the arm status at the start and end of operation. This ensures optimal torque and torque limits for the motor and speed reducer, maintaining controllability, avoiding mechanical vibration, and extending the robot's service life.

  9. Selectable hollow shaft and tool flange options: Certain models in the YK-XG series, such as YK250XG, YK350XG, YK400XG, YK500XGL, and YK600XGL, offer the option of a hollow shaft for easy wiring to the tip tool or a tool flange for tool clamping, providing flexibility for specific application requirements.
