Hydrophobic polyethersulfone (PES) membranes are designed for fast air filtration or sterile venting while preventing any liquid passage or condensate blockage. Hydrophobic PES membranes are made of a modified polyethersulfone polymer with supportive PP or PET backing. The asymmetric pore structure and high porosity provides excellent flow rate and contaminants retention efficiency. Supported with PP or PET layer, the hydrophobic PES membrane filters have additional benefits of strong dimensioinal stability which make them able to withstand agressive further processing, and the superior mechanical strength can also withstand almost all kinds of assembling technologies. Polyethersulfone (PES) membranes are compatible with various sterilization methods such as ETO, gamma irradiation and autoclaves, and the gamma irradiation compatibility of PES membrane make them a very efficient and powerful alternative to PTFE and will help you to increase your process and product security at lower costs.
