Product Description
0.1μm Hydrophobic PTFE Membranes with Polypropylene Support
Our PTFE membranes are manufactured through a unique expansion process where polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is expanded both uniaxially and biaxially into a three-dimensional web-like structure called ePTFE. This creates billions of microscopic pores and functions as an absolute retentive membrane.
Available in 0.1μm, 0.22μm, and 0.45μm pore sizes, these PTFE membranes are laminated onto nonwoven polypropylene backing for enhanced strength and simplified handling. Supported PTFE membranes demonstrate exceptional chemical resistance to most aggressive solvents, strong acids, and bases.
Key Features & Benefits
- Enhanced structural strength and handling convenience
- Inherently hydrophobic (water-resistant) properties
- Superior air flow rates for efficient performance
- High resistance to water entry pressure
- Broad chemical compatibility with strong acids and aggressive solvents
- Autoclavable up to 130°C for sterilization

Applications
Laminated PTFE membranes with polypropylene support are suitable for diverse applications including clarification of compatible non-aqueous solvents, phase separation investigations, venting applications with water repellency, and environmental air sampling. The inherent hydrophobic properties prevent moisture absorption from air or gases, making these membranes ideal for venting applications, phase separations, and aerosol sampling. The combination of broad chemical compatibility and excellent water repellency makes PTFE membranes perfect for filtration of strong acids and aggressive solutions. The optimal balance of high air flow and superior water entry pressure resistance makes these membranes the preferred choice for demanding pressure applications where other membrane types may fail.
