PTFE Syringe Filters for HPLC and GC Sample Preparation
In analytical chemistry applications requiring high sensitivity such as HPLC, GC, and mass spectrometry, sample purity is critical for accurate results. These syringe filters effectively remove particles that could cause column blockage, sensor contamination, or signal interference.
PTFE Membrane Properties
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membranes offer exceptional chemical compatibility, strong hydrophobicity, and high-temperature resistance. Suitable for filtering nearly all organic solvents, corrosive solutions, and gases.
Pore Size Selection Guide
Available in 0.22μm and 0.45μm pore sizes:
  • 0.22μm: Recommended for chromatographic columns with packing materials ≤3μm diameter
  • 0.45μm: Recommended for chromatographic columns with packing materials >3μm diameter

Application Notes
PTFE membranes are inherently hydrophobic. For aqueous sample filtration, pre-wetting with ethanol or isopropanol is required. No pre-wetting is necessary for gas filtration or organic solvents.
