Ship launching airbags are essential tools for safe and efficient vessel launching and handling. Constructed with high-strength synthetic rubber reinforced with multiple steel wire layers, they provide excellent load-bearing capacity and flexibility. The airbags are designed to withstand high instantaneous loads during vessel launches while offering resistance to abrasion, UV exposure, and aging. Their low-friction surface ensures smooth sliding, protecting the hull from scratches. Airbags are suitable for diverse vessel types and port conditions and reduce launch costs compared to traditional slipways and rollers.

In 2022, a shipyard in Zhejiang was tasked with launching a 950-ton offshore supply vessel. The shipyard's traditional slipway could not safely accommodate the vessel due to limited slope length. Hongruntong Marine supplied six airbags, each 2.2 meters in diameter and 16 meters long.

After performing pressure tests and load simulations, the airbags were inflated to 0.16 MPa. During launch, the vessel slid smoothly from the slipway into the water. The airbags distributed the load evenly, preventing hull stress points. The launch was completed in under 40 minutes, a 25% time reduction compared to traditional methods. The airbags were fully recovered and reused for subsequent launches. This project demonstrated Hongruntong's airbags' effectiveness in medium-sized vessel launches under constrained conditions.
