HC Silicon Description
Silicon carbon alloy, also known as high carbon silicon, or high carbon ferrosilicon. It is a by-product of silicon metal production. It is mainly composed of silicon and carbon. Among them, the silicon content is usually 40-70%, and the carbon content is 10-25%. Other contents are: silicon dioxide, phosphorus, sulfur and so on.
HC Silicon is a new type of alloy used in converters. It is rich in silicon but has a relatively high carbon content. It is currently mainly used in steelmaking and foundry fields. High-carbon silicon has a very high economical type. It can replace ferrosilicon, silicon carbide, and another furnace charge in steelmaking, but the price is relatively low. Common high carbon silicon mainly includes nature lumps, standard lumps, granules, and powders.
HC Silicon Alloy Application
1.HC Silicon is a good substitute for ferro silicon in steel making, which has the advantage in reducing the making cost and reusing resources.
2.High carbon silicon is used to make silicon briquette which has far and wide market at home and abroad.
3.HC silicon is used as deoxidizing agent in steel-making to reduce oxygen levels in the melt via reaction.
