Working Principle of Dimming Glass

Dimming glass is composed of a layer of liquid crystal film (polymer dispersed liquid crystal) sandwiched between two pieces of glass. When the power is off, the liquid crystal molecules are arranged in disorder, and the light cannot pass through normally, making the glass appear opaque. When powered on, the liquid crystal molecules align under the electric field, allowing light to penetrate and making the glass transparent.

This dimming function depends on the change of the scattering and transmission characteristics of the liquid crystal molecules to achieve adjustable light transmittance and transparency.
